April 1st
Dear Students and Friends,
There are many stories about April Fool's Day and how this date is celebrated in other countries. One of the stories says that this celebration started in France at the beginning of 16th century.
At that time, the New Year started on March 25th, and that date would also welcome the beginning of spring. Moreover, that event used to last a week and would only end on April 1st.
In English-speaking countries, this day is called April Fool's. In Italy and France, it is named "Pesce D'Aprile" and "Poisson D'Avril". But, in Brazil, this date is known as "Dia da Mentira".
Well,I found this piece of information in Wikipedia, but in case you want to know more about this special occasion, you can browse the net. I hope you have lots of fun today!
