St. Patrick's Day

Saint Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland. He was captured by pirates, but after six long years of slavery, he escaped to France and became a monk. He was responsible for bringing Christianity to Ireland and used a shamrock (Ireland's national flower) to explain the Blessed Trinity.
There are a lot of legends in relation to this saint. One of them is about a leprechaun. It is said that this little man wears green clothes and keeps a pot of gold. However, this pot of gold is found in the rainbow.
Another symbol that is related to St. Patrick's day is the shamrock, which is a clover. It is also believed that if a person finds a four-leaf clover, it will bring him/her good luck.
St. Patrick's day reminds me of an Irish co-worker who used to teach at Thomas Jefferson a few years ago. She would always bake a green cake and prepare some green soda for us. She would also perform a typical Irish dance in our school. Her name is Mary F. O'Connell and I miss her a lot.
Happy St. Patrick's Day for everybody!

A Very Special Visitor

This video was made by my CTJ students. My group decided to create a story about Nijed's pet because this small animal caused a hullabaloo in school. At the break time, everybody asked Nijed many questions about his pet and took lots of pictures. Other students were also curious about Spike.
I would say that this was a very special day and I am proud of their work.
Congratulations, guys, on your job!

A Special Day

Today is March 8th and it is a very special date for women. In fact, this day was originally called International Working Women's Day and it was created to celebrate women's achievements throughout history. It is also known as the United Nations Day for Women's Rights and International Peace.
Then, I would like to congratulate all my dear friends, students, workmates and relatives on this special day.
