If Tom Jobim were alive, he would celebrate his 84th birthday today. But, do you know who he was?
Tom Jobim was born in Rio de Janeiro on January 25th, 1927. He was a songwriter, composer, arranger, singer, pianist and guitarist. He wrote many beautiful songs like "Ela é Carioca" (She is Carioca), "Garota de Ipanema" (The Girl from Ipanema), "Águas de Março" (Waters of March), and "Vou te contar" (Wave). Also, he played and sang with very famous people like João Gilberto, Vinicius de Moraes and Frank Sinatra. Unfortunately, he died on December 8th, 1994 when he was 67.
I chose these videos to show you how beautiful his songs were.
